“Everybody knows one: the friend who has the debate on in the background, the aunt who has knocked doors in three states, the coworker whose desk has a small flag on it. This Cool Socks pair of designs is for them – a Barack Obama portrait print, and a Democratic donkey set against stars and stripes. Both are printed cuff to toe, so the artwork does not disappear inside a shoe, and both are the kind of thing that gets noticed when you cross your legs at a watch party. Both designs run Size Large as full crew-length socks, fitting shoe sizes 8-12 (men) and 9.5-13.5 (women). The knit has a stay-up cuff, reinforced heel and toe, and enough give across the arch to sit comfortably through a whole day on your feet. Made from 45% Cotton, 52% Polyester, 3% Spandex. The cotton-rich blend keeps them soft and breathable rather than clammy, the polyester holds the print sharp through repeated washing, and the spandex gives the leg enough recovery that they still fit properly on the fourth wear. Machine wash and they come back the same colors they went in. As a present they are easy. Political memorabilia is usually something that sits on a shelf – these get worn. Birthdays, the holidays, a stocking stuffer, a thank-you for a campaign volunteer, an inauguration or election night, or a small something for the person who already owns every book on the subject. ODD SOX has spent years turning artwork people care about into Cool Socks and Crazy Socks that get used rather than stored.”
